Adhesive Face-stock Materials for Printing Customized Labels and Stickers
The choice of label materials for food jars mainly depends on the food storage temperature, environmental humidity, container material, and labeling temperature. For example, paper labels are suitable for honey jars stored at room temperature, while moisture-resistant film labels are generally a better choice for food jars that require refrigeration or freezing.

1. Room Temperature Storage
Suitable Foods: honey, dried fruits, nuts, tea, spices, and certain jam products
Recommended Materials: coated paper, kraft paper, and BOPP Film.
Paper labels are suitable for dry, room-temperature storage conditions, offering excellent print quality at a relatively low cost. If food jars are likely to come into contact with moisture or oil, laminated paper labels or BOPP film labels are recommended.
2.Refrigerated Storage
Suitable Foods:jams, sauces, pickled foods, and certain dairy products that require refrigeration
Recommended Materials: white BOPP/PP, clear BOPP, and PE Film
These film materials offer excellent moisture resistance, helping food jar labels withstand humidity and condensation in refrigerated environments. Adhesives should be selected specifically for refrigerated storage, with particular attention to the difference between low-temperature and room-temperature labeling.
3.Frozen Storage
Suitable Foods: frozen sauces, ice cream, frozen desserts, and other frozen food products.
Recommended Materials: BOPP, PE, or other film materials tested and approved for low-temperature applications.
These labels require specialized freezer-grade adhesives. If labels need to be applied to already frozen containers, it is essential to confirm the adhesive’s minimum application temperature rather than relying solely on its minimum service temperature after application.

If you order adhesive roll labels for automatic labeling machine, please consider three points: label unwind direction, core diameter, label roll diameter and quantity of labels per roll.
Label Unwind Direction
Also known as label roll direction—refers to the specific orientation and edge of a label as it peels off a roll, absolutely vital for machine application. The above picture only show the direction of labels on the out side.
Core Diameter
Label core diameter refers to the inner diameter of the cardboard tube that custom labels are wound around, critical for machine application. Standard core diameters: 3 inch (76mm), 1 inch (25mm), 1.5 inch (38mm)
Label Outer Diameter
Label outer diameter (OD) refers to the total thickness of a full roll of adhesive labels. The outer diameter of the label rolls shall physically fits onto the external unwind arm of your printer or automated labeling machine.
Quantity per Roll
The quantity per roll for adhesive labels could be specified. Although customization is possible, the quantity per roll is not unlimited, subject to physical constraints imposed by the printing equipment, the labeling method, and the label material itself.
